Our 2024 Achievements

India

Norican in India marked its 40th anniversary in July with a huge celebration for employees and distinguished guests at our Tumkur plant, with employees sharing their stories and honors awarded.

UK

The Norican team in the UK completed a fundraising hike for cancer charity Macmillan raising £890 by scaling the UK's highest peak..

France

Two teams at Wheelabrator in France went on a litter picking quest in the area surrounding our facility in Charleville, collecting nearly 136kg of waste in just two hours, including 1.35kg of cigarette butts, 4kg of glass, 26.48kg of recyclable waste and 104.04kg of household waste.

India

At our Tumkur plant in India, we've installed a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to treate wastewater, which is then repurposed for gardening and toilet flushing. This initiative has significantly reduced freshwater consumption. Since its implementation in 2023, the STP alone has helped save nearly one million liters of water.

Germany

The Wheelabrator team in Germany has moved to an electronic document management system and reduced the number of printers from 16 to 6 to encourage paperless processes. Paper consumption has fallen by 70% since the start of the initiative.

Japan

The team in Japan encouraged employees to switch to reusable cups eliminating over 2,000 disposable cups.

China

The celebration of Chinese New year. Delivering lucky red packet is a tradition in Norican China at the first working day. Every year, Mr. Wei will deliver them to our employees in Norican Changzhou Plant. It means a good and prosperous new year’s coming. This year is the year of Dragon which symbolizes the energy, intelligence and power in China.

China

 At this year’s Metal China and Die casting China we saw significant improvements in our printing habits, only printing 10% at Metal China compared to 2022 and 4,2% at Die casting China compared to 2022.  A decrease of 3650 printed papers in total which is equivalent to 18,250 kg CO2

USA

At our Simpson global tech center open house, staff received small tokens of appreciation—coasters and mousepads made from recycled rubber. These gifts embody our commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the company we sourced them from will plant a tree seedling on behalf of Simpson, furthering our eco-friendly initiatives. 🌱

UK

Gingerbread Socks are for sale in the main kitchen to support World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. All proceeds will go to Down Syndrome Cheshire, a local charity based in Northwich. Another small local initiative to help support the local communities inspired by the people close to us!
