DISA India Limited is looking for a EHS Manager for its Tumkur factory
Activities / Responsibilities:
- Promote occupational environment, health and safety within the organisation and develop safer and healthier ways of working.
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Ensure site representatives are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under EHS policy.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident/ incident prevention.
- Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity and provide management with accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives. • Monitor compliance to the policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
- Inspect workplace and field work to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and correctives.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Prepare Environmental Management Plan and Waste Management Plan
- Liaise with suppliers, 3rd part Service parties etc any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
- Coordinate with HR team and conduct annual health camps for Plant Staff, workmen, Service Engineers
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
- Ensure successful adherence to Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Maintain good rapport with government regulatory authorities.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering and / Bachelor of Industrial Safety /M.sc in Environment Sciences.
- 8 - 10 years of experience in EHS
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic, EHS Regulations. knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with operational teams and knowledge on Food Safety standards.
- Lead/ Internal auditor certification of the standards will be an advantage.
Position Interfaces with:
Factory Managers, Quality team, Line of business Heads, Project managers, Services Teams, HR Team, Government agencies.
Reports/ Returns:
Monthly & Quarterly EHS report, Incident Reports, Safety Audit reports, Health Reports
